Who We Are

A Proud Tradition, A Foundation for the Future

Today’s Penn State student journalists carry on a proud tradition of telling impactful stories. They have produced award-winning television, print/digital and radio reporting that has enriched the lives of Penn Staters at University Park and beyond.

The five organizations joined together in 2023 to fortify the foundation that will ensure student journalism at Penn State will thrive long into the future. With a collaborative spirit, the news organizations will continue to help students develop into future media leaders.

As an organization, Penn State Student Media will work to provide essential resources and structure in support of its journalists.

The Value of Student Journalism

The members of Penn State Student Media are committed to serving their community with quality journalism and providing students with enriching hands-on learning experiences. The student reporters live in and participate in the diverse Penn State and State College communities, which positions them extremely well to give voice to stories that matter to their audiences.

By maintaining the highest ethical standards and producing transparent, accountable reporting, our student journalists provide an essential service while developing skills that will benefit them long after graduation.
